I know what you’re thinking, another new Momma turned blogger, so typical these days…
True, but here’s the thing, from very early on in my pregnancy I knew I wanted to start some sort of blog. Between my love for home decor and design to my growing obsession with all things baby, I knew blogging would be the perfect outlet for me. The problem was, didn’t know exactly how to do it or where to begin! Coding and website building is definitely not my thing! So I pushed the idea off to the side, too scared to actually take the leap.
As I continued to journey further into my pregnancy, thinking my blogging dreams were unattainable, I found myself obsessing over established bloggers who were also pregnant. Because many of them were further along than myself, I looked to them for answers to questions I was unsure of when it came to pregnancy and all things baby. For some reason I basically thought these people were foolproof pregnancy/mommy guides. I mean, why would I need to read a book when I have people all around me who are pregnant and sharing their experiences??
There was one problem with this method of relying solely on these girls for information/emotional support. A majority of them were/are also first-time mommies that mainly put on a pretty facade. They were always sharing the good, never the bad and ugly when it came to pregnancy and soon-to-be motherhood. And to be honest, if I’m about to have my first child, and I’m reading about how you delivered a precious 7 pound baby in your pristine $200 Italian silk pajamas, I don’t think you’ll be sharing the raw new mom advice I’m looking for… Those realizations led me to get over my fear of starting a blog. So finally here I am almost 7 months later, nervously (& excitedly) launching My Little Roman for the world to see!
I do not by any means consider myself a baby expert!
I still constantly ask my family and sorority sister momma friends for advice when it comes to Roman. But I have done my research, especially on baby products, which you’ll see a lot throughout my site. And because I’ve done my research, I know there is an O V E R L O A D of information on Pinterest and conflicting opinions on Google, which can become exhausting! So I’m here to help! I may like to take pretty photos, but my posts will be full of raw experiences, advice on tough and uncomfortable situations, and fun products to make your life easier as a mom! On my blog you’ll see the good, the bad, and the ugly of raising my little Roman Roy.
I know there are so many of you that are pregnant or have just given birth to your own little babes and I hope to become a trusted source to you all. My son’s name may be in the title of my blog, but rest assure, over time you’ll see more than just my sweet boy’s face across this site. I hope my blog becomes a place for me to share with you all the things that bring me joy.
I’m so excited for you all to join me on my new blogging journey!
